It's hard to describe just how awe-inspiring Scoresby Sound is. There are towering mountains which have eroded into dizzying pinnacles, immense and beautiful icebergs are carved into almost any shape you can imagine, and plunging glaciers that few have seen before.
Add dramatic light that can last all night long, and you can see the appeal.
This is not a photo tour, or a traditional workshop. It is a photography expedition. Eastern Greenland is above all other things, remote. We will be exploring the wilderness of Scoresby Sound, the world's largest fjord system.
On a small, well-appointed expedition ship, there's nothing to come between us and the photography. As a small ship, we have incredible flexibility, allowing us to enter areas and anchor where the larger ships can't.
With two world-class photography leaders and one of the best expedition leaders in the business, we will take you to locations that are unlike anything you have ever experienced before.
We will travel on board Freya, a 45-meter expedition ship with a high ice class, meaning we can work in and around ice for the best photography opportunities. She is recently renovated and is very comfortable in her appointments.
Freya has low decks, making her ideal for ship-based iceberg photography and she carries three five-meter Zodiac V boats for making landings and cruising. This means that with our maximum group size of 18 people, we have nor more than 6 passengers per Zodiac, allowing plenty of room for photography gear and to move around to get the best images.
Peter’s photography speaks for itself; but above and beyond that, I much appreciated his unstinting, affable and understated way of helping people really enhance their photographic experience and results.
